Siuslaw River: Fall Chinook angling is consistent, with fair to good catch rates. Anglers are catching fish from the lower bay through tide water. Cutthroat trout angling is fair.

Arizona Pond: Trout fishing is poor. Water levels have been reduced to control aquatic vegetation.

Chetco River: Chinook fishing continues to be hit and miss in the estuary. The Chetco River terminal ocean Chinook fishery runs through Oct. 12.

Coos River Basin: Good clam digging tides will return next week.

This past week has seen a great improvement in the number of Dungeness crabs harvested from the docks.

Coquille River Basin: There were lots of coho harvested this past week.

Diamond Lake: Fishing has improved with the cooler temperatures. Contact the resort for the latest fishing news at 1-800-733-7593, ext. 238.

Elk and Sixes rivers: Cutthroat fishing has been good. Anglers will want to fish early or late in the day for a chance at catching some of the bigger cutthroat that live in most of the holes in both rivers.

Floras Lake: Slow trolling wedding ring spinners or fly fishing are pretty effective.

Garrison Lake: Anglers finding open water are still picking up trout. Boat anglers are reminded to clean all aquatic vegetation off their boats and trailers before heading home to help control the spread of non-native plants and animals.

Loon Lake: Bass and bluegill fishing has been good recently.

Pacific Ocean and beaches: Fishing from shore for rockfish has been good. Concentrate your fishing near rocky outcroppings and drop-offs.

Fishing for greenling has been good, especially when fishing around rocky shorelines with some kelp growing nearby.

Rogue River, lower: Anglers are catching a mix of coho and Chinook in the Rogue Bay. Most fish are being picked up on anchovies or an anchovy with a spinner blade in front. Some anglers are reporting some success trolling plugs or spinners.

Tenmile Basin: A blue green algae health advisory has been issued for Tenmile Lake. This does not close the fishery, but the Department of Human Services advisory states that precautions should be taken to avoid water contact for people and pets. People who choose to eat fish from waters where algae blooms are present should remove all fat, skin and organs before cooking, since toxins are more likely to collect in these tissues.

Bass are biting on crankbaits, jigs, plastic worms, topwater and spinnerbaits.

Winchester Bay: Bank angling for Chinook is picking up between Half Moon Bay and Salmon Harbor. The South Jetty has been good for bottomfishing, and the area is picking up for surfperch.

Clamming: The Oregon Department of Agriculture and the ODFW have reopened the entire Oregon Coast to razor clam harvest, from the California border to the Columbia River.

The ODFW conservation closure is no longer in effect, and shellfish samples indicate biotoxins are below alert level in razor clams.

SW Zone hunting: Rifle deer opens today, and cougar, bear, valley and mountain quail, forest and blue grouse are also open.
