Food Diary’s Return: Wednesday, July 15

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Oh, I’m sooooooooo glad to be starting up my Food Diary again. It has been a while, and I have gone so far astray. I have to admit, the Food Diary really does help me stay accountable and more aware of what I’m eating

Breakfast: Cereal Bar (90 cals, 17 carbs)

Lunch: Bacon-wrapped Albacore tuna with rice and coleslaw. I didn’t eat all of the bacon on the tuna, which was about the size of the palm of my hand if not a little smaller. The coleslaw, I didn’t eat but a couple of bites…the rice was probably a half to full cup. I topped it with a little bit of  soy sauce and ate every bit of it (I like rice :) )

Snack: Some pretzel crisps

Dinner: Two and half fish tacos (the order came with three but I couldn’t eat all of it) and one cheddar-pepper popper.

Not too bad…I was happy with the Tuna that  got at the Farmers Market…while I love the hot dog/pulled pork sandwich guy’s food, it was nice to have another option that felt a little healthier!

Thursday started bad with no breakfast and a Dutch Mocha

But I was really proud of myself at lunch when I had a crispy chicken sandwich and got fruit as the side instead of the sweet potato fries

Dinner was a simply bacon, egg cheese sandwich — I used the turkey bacon instead of regular bacon and it was pretty tasty. Finished the meal off with an apple.

Had some pecans for snack.

Friday

Breakfast: some fruit and plain bagel with fat cream cheese cream (brought breakfast for the newsroom since we had to work)

No real lunch, had a little more fruit for a snack

Dinner a grilled hamburger, some chips and dip and beer. I was started celebrating early and got carried away.

On the up side, we walked down to the Mill to see the fireworks. So I got a little excerise.

A much better day food wise.

Breakfast: Cereal bar (90 cals)

Lunch: Tomatoes (don’t remember the calories but there aren’t too many) and cottage cheese (110 cals)

Snack: Pecans

Dinner: Breaded chicken cordon blue (350 cals) wild and brown rice (220 cals/cup of rice), and one apple

So see, a good day food wise.

Food Diary: Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Monday was a very good day!

Breakfast: Cheerios w/banana and reduced fat milk

Snacks: pecans, three pieces of sugar free candy (that’s the serving size)

Lunch: Cottage Cheese with tomatoes and bell peppers and some imitation crab meat (I know, I know, but it is cheap and I know what the serving size and calorie is since it is on the package — half a cup for 80 calories)

Dinner: Smart Ones Floretine Lasanga (290 Calories)

Snack: Smartpop minibag of popcorn (100-110 calories)

I really felt good about my choices on Monday. :)

Tuesday, however, not so much.

Breakfast: Cheerios w/banana and reduced fat milk

Lunch: Taco salad and soft taco from Taco Bell

Dinner: Healthy Choice Seseame Chicken steam bowl (330 calories)

Not super horrible, but not good. :(

Food Diary: Saturday, June 26, & Sunday, June 27

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Weekend has been pretty good considering the school-related deadline.

Saturday: English muffin, some turkey bacon a banna.

Snack: string cheese

Snack: Some pecans

Dinner: Grilled burger with pepperjack cheese, carrots, pickled pepper

Dessert: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich

Drinks: Crystal Light Pink Lemonade, Land of Lake Mint Hot Chocolate (I know, I wish I could say I regretted it but it tasted oh so good)

Sunday:

Breakfast: One fried egg, some turkey bacon and English muffin

Snack: String cheese, pecans,

Drink: Crystal Light Fruit Punch

Dinner: Taco Salad and soft taco from Taco Bell

Food Diary: Thursday, June 25

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Not horrible considering I knew I was going to eat things I shouldn’t.

Breakfast: Cheerios w/reduced fat milk

snack: A Dutch Mocha coffee with an extra shot of espresso (I know, but I needed some coffee and since I neglected to make any, I had to do something else)

Lunch: Six-inch turkey and ham sub, water and two slices of apples from Subway

Dinner: Beer-battered fried calamari, a salad with blue cheese dressing, green beans, rice pilaf (I didn’t all of it) and two oh-my-goodness-these-are-so good crab cakes, and I spilt a creme brulee with Mr. X (it was our wedding anniversary)

I know the fired calamari isn’t good for me, and it with the dessert, were probably the worse things I could have. I opted not to eat a roll at dinner (I really wanted dessert).

So not good but not horrible.

:)

Food Diary: Wednesday, June 23

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

OK, going to go ahead and start this now and will update as I go through my day.

Breakfast: cereal bar (90 cals)

Lunch: Hotdog from Farmers Market (approx 470 calories and 41 carbs); and a very small handful of pecans.Oh my they are good. Hotdog was OK, it was mainly a way to eat something so I don’t just pack it at lunch.

Dinner: Spinach Salad with tomatoes, carrots, a mushroom and cuccumber with a blue cheese dressing and topped with feta and grilled tuna steak (yummers)

Dessert: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich.

A much much better day!

:)

Food Diary: Monday, June 22

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Not a horrible day — could have been better

Breakfast: Cheerios w/low-fat milk

Lunch: An egg roll, BBQ pork, a little sweet and sour chicken, and a spoonful of fried rice. And a Snapple to drink

Dinner: Skishkabob (two) and some low fat cottage cheese with chives.

Dessert: Skinny Cow ice cream bar

Snack: About a cup of popcorn

See, not horrible, but not stellar. I’m trying to get back to the right direction.

Oh and a heads up, my wedding anniversary is this week and I can promise you I probably won’t eat super healthy foods and I was — you’re going cringe — thinking about creme brulee for dessert when Mr. X takes me out. He won’t tell where — it is a surprise — but I am already thinking dessert. LOL :)

Sunday, June 21

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Breakfast: None

Lunch: Philly cheesesteak sandwich, sweet potato fries, Diet Pepsi

Snack: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich

Dinner: Schiskabobs (sorry if it is spelled wrong, I found two or three ways to spell it) with mushrooms, bell pepper, pearl onions and beef and chicken.

They were pretty good — I only had two, though. Thought we could save the rest (because we made a lot) for dinner tonight!

Oh, and after I drank the diet soda, I made it a point to drink nothing but water when we got home. I am actually make it a point to drink more water these days though I don’t mention it a lot.

:)

Saturday, June 20

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with gorgonzola and some kielbsa

Dinner: A piece of baked fish, steamed cauliflower , some candied yams, salad w/Italian dressing, celery, carrots, some cheese cubes, peel-and-eat shrimp, one crableg, a crabcake, pineapple,  a roll, and a baked oyster

I don’t have a calorie count, but I feel good about what I ate, and I didn’t feel stuffed — full and satisfied but not stuffed. Overall, I think a decent day for someone who is struggling to eat better!
