Question: In the article, “State subpoenas assessor’s records” (The World, Nov. 18), Mr. Colby was stated as saying, “depending on the person, it takes about a month to study and pass the licensing exam.” I would like to know what kind of license he was referring to? I was under the impression that it takes years to achieve an appraisal license, with one requirement being, that you are trained by a licensed appraiser for a minimum of 3,000 hours, after all the classroom study.
