Is dredging making my building sink?

Question: I have noted with interest the recent rash of articles regarding downtown building deterioration. My own business building has also shown recent and significant signs of sinking, most notably since the last shipping channel dredging. Some of the damage is minor, but some is not, and I am wondering how many additional business owners have incurred new damage since last summer. There’s no doubt in my mind as to what caused the damage and I am greatly concerned that the next dredging could yield a very expensive repair bill, if the last one hasn’t already. I want to know who is responsible for the dredging and who can I and other business owners speak to regarding the damage being done?

Why is there dredging while the salmon are going up river to spawn?

Question: Why are the Army Corps of Engineers dredging the Marshfield channel and Coos River inlet when the salmon are running up river to spawn? They are supposed to be protecting the fish, not killing them!
