moneyfist1 Man buys car, finds $200K in counterfeit cashBALL GROUND, Ga. (AP) — One north Georgia man got more than he bargained for when he bought a car from a towing company late last year. Officials with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that Tye Kuykendall found $200,000 in counterfeit money inside a hidden compartment behind the back seat of the car.

Authorities said Kuykendall bought the car after it sat for more than three years in an impound yard after being towed by Fulton County police in 2006.

Authorities said he was fixing a gas leak when he discovered the secret compartment.

Cherokee officials have called the U.S. Secret Service to help with the case.

Cops: Pair allegedly use jury box to smuggle drugs

And these two are wondering how they ended up in jail.  If they are this stupid I think it was a forgone conclusion that their life of crime would end up with 3 hots and a cot.  See ya in 5 to 10.

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) — It was a dumb way to try to sneak drugs into prison. Pueblo County authorities said a 22-year-old woman worked out a plan with her boyfriend to get narcotics into jail Wednesday through a courtroom exchange at her own sentencing hearing. Officials learned of the plot because the woman in jail, Felisha Trujillo, and her boyfriend talked about the plot on a monitored phone line.

Phil Martinez, 26, allegedly dropped a bag of narcotics in the jury box before Trujillo’s hearing, when the courtroom was empty. The alleged drug drop happened minutes after elementary school students had finished a mock trial in the same courtroom.

Detectives were watching, and Martinez was arrested. Both Martinez and Trujillo face drug and contraband charges.

Boulder crashes through Tennessee home, barely misses 75-year-old woman asleep in bed

Isn’t Bowling for Seniors illegal?   Sounds like she’s more than just lucky that this rock didn’t do worse.  Healing from a broken hip is hard, healing from getting hit by a 10 foot rock probably much harder!

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Emergency officials say a boulder about the size of a compact car crashed into an apartment in eastern Tennessee, barely missing a woman sleeping in her bedroom.

Fire Chief David Jackson in Rogersville says 75-year-old Elizabeth Allred was lucky that the 10-foot-wide boulder didn’t hit her bed straight on. Instead, it crashed nearby and the imploding wall sent her hospital bed rolling across the room. She was at home recovering from a broken hip when it happened Monday morning. Allred told Jackson it felt like a train crashed into her room.

Jackson said the boulder broke loose from a bank above the dwelling during recent rains.

The Kingsport Times-News reported that Allred was listed in good condition at a hospital on Tuesday.

Authorities say man climbed over fence to try and break into Oregon jail

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I say if you are going to commit a crime why not do it right at the police station.   It saves time for them hunting you down and you already know the area.   What a doofus!

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Police said a man climbed over a fence and tried to break into the Jackson County Jail. Medford Police Lt. Bob Hansen said that at about 4:10 a.m. Monday, jail officials spotted a man scaling the fence around an area where officers unload potential prisoners and take them inside. The officials called police.

Officers said the 28-year-old man was distraught and said he had been drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. He told officers he was trying to get help at the jail and that when he didn’t get an answer at the front entrance, he decided to go around back.

The Mail Tribune reported that police cited the man for disorderly conduct and trespassing. He was taken to the county’s sobering center and referred for mental health services.
