Crew mistakenly demolishes the wrong house

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

OMG I hate it when that happens.  I have a bad day at work and something is missing on a website, these guys have a bad day at work and someones house is accidentally dimolished.

DENTON, Texas (AP) — A woman was trying to figure out what to do after a demolition crew wrongly tore down most of her house, instead of one across the street. Francis Howard told the Denton Record-Chronicle that “I don’t have the words to say” about what happened to her family’s longtime home. The 69-year-old woman, who lives with her son in Frisco, said Monday that the family had resided in the Denton home for 47 years.

Much of the house was demolished April 21.

City records show the house that was supposed to be demolished was ordered in January to be repaired or torn down, due to unkept lawns, outside storage, junked vehicles and failure to secure the structure.

The landlord of the property that was to have been demolished declined comment.

6-pound foal born may be world’s tiniest

horse 300x187 6 pound foal born may be worlds tiniestA horse is a horse of course but this sure isn’t a Mr. Ed.  This diminutive little fella even makes pony’s look huge by comparison.

BARNSTEAD, N.H. (AP) — A diminutive horse born in New Hampshire could lay claim to the world record for lightweight foal. The pinto stallion named Einstein weighed just 6 pounds and measured 14 inches tall when he was born Friday in Barnstead, N.H. Those proportions fit a human baby just about right but are downright tiny for horse, even a miniature breed like Einstein.

Dr. Rachel Wagner, Einstein’s co-owner, says the Guinness Book of Records lists the smallest newborn horse as weighing in at 9 pounds.

Breeders say that unlike the current record holder, Thumbelina, Einstein shows no signs of dwarfism. He’s just a tiny horse.

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Mental note to self – When robbing a convenience store don’t stick around to pee in the area.  What a doofus!  Here’s your sign.  I think the charge of urinating in public is a nice touch to add.

SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) — An alleged ill-timed potty break has landed a man accused of robbing a Suffolk convenience store behind bars. Police said 43-year-old Sean Almond was found urinating behind a Kangaroo Mart minutes after a clerk reported the store had been robbed Thursday night. Police said Almond was carrying the stolen cash.

Almond was charged with one count of armed robbery. Charges of assault and urinating in public are pending.

Almond was being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond. It was not clear if he has an attorney.

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

I am not sure that advertising on a urn will bring you positive returns but I sure hope someone will step up to help this family out!

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) — A Springfield man with colon cancer who has been told he has just months to live is selling advertising space on his urn. Aaron Jamison told KVAL-TV he hopes to raise $800 to help his wife Kristin pay for the cost of his cremation.

One friend, restaurant owner Dustin Remington, has already paid $100 for an ad. Jamison plans to hand-paint the ad on his urn.
