Trooper: Deputy locked in dog cage after DUI stop

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Uh oh I am betting he’ll be talking to a lawyer about this and someone is going to pay for him being in the dog house!   As an officer he should be charge double for this crime IMHO!

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee sheriff’s deputy arrested on a drunken driving charge wound up in a dog house before he was taken to the big house. The Kingsport Times-News reported the details of a Tennessee Highway Patrol arrest report, which said 47-year-old Samuel Monroe Bledsoe was kicking the windows of a trooper’s cruiser on his way to a hospital for a blood test.

The report said Bledsoe was then locked inside the cruiser’s K-9 cage for his safety.

Trooper David Osborne said in the report that Bledsoe performed poorly during a field sobriety test – even after it was explained to Bledsoe 18 times.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office later fired Bledsoe.

Bledsoe was free Wednesday on $1,500 bond. A message left at a phone number listed for Bledsoe was not immediately returned.

Boulder crashes through Tennessee home, barely misses 75-year-old woman asleep in bed

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Isn’t Bowling for Seniors illegal?   Sounds like she’s more than just lucky that this rock didn’t do worse.  Healing from a broken hip is hard, healing from getting hit by a 10 foot rock probably much harder!

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Emergency officials say a boulder about the size of a compact car crashed into an apartment in eastern Tennessee, barely missing a woman sleeping in her bedroom.

Fire Chief David Jackson in Rogersville says 75-year-old Elizabeth Allred was lucky that the 10-foot-wide boulder didn’t hit her bed straight on. Instead, it crashed nearby and the imploding wall sent her hospital bed rolling across the room. She was at home recovering from a broken hip when it happened Monday morning. Allred told Jackson it felt like a train crashed into her room.

Jackson said the boulder broke loose from a bank above the dwelling during recent rains.

The Kingsport Times-News reported that Allred was listed in good condition at a hospital on Tuesday.

Man tries to avoid arrest in women’s clothes

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

It amazes me the lengths that a criminal will go to in order to avoid being caught.  If they could only put that effort into an honest job they’d not be the subjects of our weird news.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Knoxville police have arrested a man they said assaulted an officer and then changed into women’s clothing in an attempt to disguise himself. The Knoxville News Sentinel reported a 19-year-old man was arrested Monday night on charges including DUI, assault on an officer, resisting arrest and burglary. He also has four outstanding warrants.

Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk said the suspect assaulted Officer Andrew Gyorfi after the teen was pulled over at about 8 p.m. for driving a car that had been reported stolen in Chattanooga. He then ran to a nearby public housing project and entered a woman’s apartment, putting on her clothes and leaving his there.

He was arrested about two hours later while walking down the street wearing women’s shoes, pants and jacket.

Attorney sued after biting off part of man’s nose

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

To think, I thought the term bloodsucker in reference to lawyers was unjust, now we see that maybe that isn’t too far off the truth.  On a serious note, I like lawyers so long as they aren’t after me icon smile Attorney sued after biting off part of mans nose

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A Memphis attorney bit off part of a man’s nose during a fight in a restaurant bathroom. A lawsuit filed by Greg Herbers claims attorney Mark Lambert attacked him last June after Herbers asked two men in a bathroom stall to get out so that he could use it.

The suit states that Lambert was at a urinal and had been carrying on a conversation with the men in the stall. Herbers claims Lambert pushed and grabbed him and bit off and swallowed part of his nose.
