Police: Woman strips to avoid arrest

Monday, October 12th, 2009

You really have to like her spirit, but I don’t think it’s going to go well for her.   Stripping after she got home to prove she didn’t shoplift was probably to little to late so to speak.   I wonder if she will show the judge her birthday suit to prove she didn’t steal anything.

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — Police say a Wisconsin woman stripped in front of her children in an attempt to avoid arrest for shoplifting, then scuffled with officers and exposed herself through a squad car window.

Julia E. Laack, 36, of Sheboygan was charged Friday with felony battery of a peace officer, resisting an officer, shoplifting and two counts of disorderly conduct, the Sheboygan Press reported.

Women accused of receiving opium in the mail

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

She musta been goin’ twiggy waiting for this shipment!  You’d think at 62 maybe you’d be past all of this, but I guess some people mature slower than others, enjoy jail gramma!

MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) — Two women accused of receiving opium through the mail have been charged in Manitowoc County. In a court appearance on Wednesday, Sheng Lee, 23, was issued a $20,000 personal recognizance bond, and bail for 62-year-old Soua Vang of St. Paul, Minn., was set at $1,000.

The women were arrested Tuesday after drug-sniffing dogs detected drugs in a package marked for delivery to a Manitowoc home.

Police said Lee signed for the package and took it to her own home. Investigators executed a search warrant there and found the package, which contained about 11 pounds of twigs soaked with opium.

Online court records didn’t list attorneys for either woman Thursday. Phone listings for the women could not be found.

I am not sure if that is cool or a little bit freaky!   Turn that baby upside down and that’s a lot of 6′s.   On the upside it would be easy to remember all of your info.  Month, 9, Day, 9, Year, 9, Weight 9.9 got any more questions?

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — No doubt. The nines have it. Chuck Berendes of La Crosse said he will never forget the birthday of this third child, born Wednesday on the ninth day of the nine month in the year 2009.

Nor will Berendes and his wife, Polly, forget Henry Michael’s arrival time – at 9:09 a.m. by Cesarean section at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse.

Dad, son excel at cricket-spitting

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

As we all grow up in life we realize that we have talents that others don’t have.  Some realize they are artists, musicians, computer geeks or whatever, but where did you go wrong in life when you realized that you were good at cricket spitting?

MARSHFIELD, Wis. (AP) — When it comes to spitting a cricket for distance, the central Wisconsin talent seems concentrated in one Marshfield family. Brian Johnsrud spat a thawed cricket 22 feet, 8 inches at the Central Wisconsin State Fair on Saturday. Minutes later, his son Jared shot his cricket 10 feet, 5 inches to win the 9-to-11 age division.

Brian Johnsrud said the key is to pick the biggest cricket and put it upside down on your tongue. He also said you have to take the deep breath before putting the cricket in your mouth, so you don’t swallow the critter.
